Loaves and Fishes - Cooking in Japan

This page is going to be some of my favorite home cooked meals.  Check back as I will be updating often with yummy food we love to eat!

Cristy's Lasagna Soup

What you need -

200 grams (1/2 pound) ground beef
2 bells peppers
1 small onion
2 or 3 cloves of garlic
2 cups beef broth (I use chicken because I don't have beef broth)
1 cup of water (you may need more)
2 packages of spaghetti meat sauce
400 grams of pasta  (about 3 1/2 cups dry pasta)
salt and pepper to taste
oregano and parsley to taste

What you do -

Cook meat until done.  Add in peppers, onion and garlic at the end.  Saute together until onion is cooked.  Add in broth, water and spaghetti sauce.  It should be VERY thin.  (May want to add more water).  Bring to a boil.  Stir in the pasta now.  Cover and let it simmer for 10 minuets.  Stir often to keep pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pan.  When pasta is done, (soft but not over done) turn off heat, add salt and pepper, oregano and parsley, mix well.  Replace lid.  Let the soup sit for about 10 - 15 minutes.  The pasta will absorb most of  the liquid.  Top with cheese and enjoy!!
